Conyers Hotel Recommendations
for Annual LB Jam

I personally inspected all the local hotels and made the notes below. I think most people try to get the Laquinta and you can tell them you are AAA and they give a good discount on the booking. They don't ask for proof (hint). I can also pickup people from the Laquinta very easily.

QUICK SUMMARY

Hotels on EXIT 82 - closest to the jam
Tip, if you tell them AAA and book over the phone they will give anyone the discount rate.

 * FIRST CHOICE * (see photos below)
La Quinta
is the nicest one I found on exit 82 which is 5 minutes from the jam. The La Quinta is a little more secluded tucked behind the Cracker Barrel  with the entrance facing  east and more isolation from the highway. The rooms were as cheap as 70.00+ the first night and deeper discounts after that. For the quality, value, location and comfort this one seems to beat all the others. Plus many jam members stay here and walk 50 yards to the Cracker Barrel restaurant in the mornings for breakfast.

The Jameson Inn is two doors down and smaller conservative rooms but they seem pretty new and clean. The staff was very friendly but at 79.00 they are a little pricey but they do discount as low as 59.00 from what I hear.

Ramada Limited is down the street a half mile but a little more of a travel truckers hotel. Not a bad hotel if trying to save money but the rooms face the highway and there are no frills. I thought the price in the 60.00 dollar range was a little high for what you get.

Hampton Inn - is on the same road but across the intersections and beside Home Depot. It's fairly new and a clean reliable place. I would still prefer the LaQuinta over this one if you have the choice. This one sits right in the middle of the shopping area.

Days Inn - next door to the Hampton is 59.00 and looked like it was not maintained very well. I was not impressed in the least. One step lower than the Ramada.

Hotels on Exit 80 - 1 exit away from the jam.

Comfort Inn - If you can stand to drive one hop over to exit 80  the Comfort Inn was one of the nicest hotels I saw. It was clean, the staff was overly helpful, nice breakfast buffet, extremely clean with hard wired and wireless comcast broadband. sauna, pool, fitness room and very easy access to the jam and the Interstate. The rates were 76.95 for two queens which is decent considering they apparently have their act together.

Holiday Inn across the highway and tricky to get to this hotel did not impress me and had owners that like the Days Inn don't understand how to clean, manicure and care for a hotel. This would be one of my last choices. Found stains on carpet and generally not very fresh and nice.

LA QUINTA - I thought this was the nicest hotel and the price is right for the extra access to everything with less highway noise. This is probably the best overall choice and had the most class of any.
NOTE: Kelvyn said he told them AAA and got a room for 64.00 per night for the second and third night!

JAMESON INN - I think this is a newer and clean place with friendly staff and access to everything. On the other side of the Cracker Barrel from the La Quinta . A little high priced for what you get at 72.00 but they discount as low as 59.00 for two queens. Decent breakfast and typical rooms for a newer business class hotel. It sits far enough away from the highway to help with road noise.

RAMADA LIMITED - Not a bad place but the external rooms are right off the Interstate with no buffer. The rooms were cleaner than I expected but also very plain with fridge and microwave. Not a bad second or third choice and the price is pretty good. Maybe better with a discount. Next door is the worse looking dive hotel and really makes this place more depressing. If you did stay here get a room on the right hand side.

64.95 two queens
Pretty basic cont breakfast and a pretty small cramped lobby
No frills except Fridge and microwave.
Small desk table and bench.

HAMPTON INN - Close to the jam and a nice consistent hotel. Fairly new and clean but expensive for what you get. It's in the middle of shopping and also a lot of traffic and very close to the Interstate. I would expect some road noise when trucks come by at night. Consider this and ask for a quiet room. It's not nice enough to justify choosing it over the La Quinta from what I can see but this is a good hotel.

84.95 two queens for the AAA rate.

DAYS INN - Not a bad place and cheap at 59.00 but looked like the price was about right and the highway sound would have to be even worse with outside room design. Just like the Hampton you exit into traffic at these extremely busy traffic lights.
